**Your responsibilities**:

- Activities are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with the applicable OSH policy, local laws, statutory requirements, such as guidelines or directives.
- Appropriate security measures are defined, communicated and established.
- Construction activities are executed efficiently, within the agreed schedule and under consideration of budget aspects.
- Implementation of a continuous improvement philosophy across the construction function, delivering best practices at all times. Management and support of all construction personnel.
- To review, in co-operation with the Project Manager, and agree the overall site programme for his area of responsibility including Sub-contractors programmes. To identify any problem areas in the programmes, discuss with the Project Manager and agree a solution.
- Construction activities are executed according to contractual obligations / specifications as well as according to the thyssenkrupp QM System.
- Provide leadership that creates one integrated site team.

**Tasks**:

- Detailed understanding of the construction contract and subcontracts.
- Collaborate with OSH; develop, maintain and implement site regulations (project work rules).
- Represent thyssenkrupp with respect to the client, contractors and other external stakeholders.
- Implement measures to maintain the safety on site, e.g. site regulations, inspections and advice, accident prevention, etc.
- Assign site personnel with consideration for the construction, construction area and commissioning managers.

Rights / Authorities:

- Negotiate and agree with the client and subcontractors on any issues which does not imply contract alterations.
- Mobilise, demobilise and replace the thyssenkrupp Uhde site team members according to site requirements.
- Instruct the thyssenkrupp Uhde site team and
- Manage / implement workflows and construction sequences to achieve construction schedule and contractual obligations.
- Resolve technical specialist decisions or disputes, if in the interest of overall project management or if the decision made violates contractual, safety or quality requirements.

**Your profile**:

- A Engineering / Construction Degree / Diploma
- Registered with SACPCMP

Work experience:

- Minimum of 15 years experience in site management.
- Prior site management experience in multi-disciplinary projects, preferably as an EC.
- A good understanding of contracts such as NEC and FIDIC.
- Must be able to use standard business software such as the Microsoft Office packages.
