An exciting opportunity exists for a **Quality Assurance Manager **at **NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED Isando, Biscuits**. The purpose of the role is to lead the Quality team and to lead the Quality function for the site. The successful incumbent will report to the Operations Executive with a dotted line to the Quality Executive.

**Job Specification**:
**Key Performance Areas**:

- Responsible for overall Quality Assurance and Control Management on site.
- Identify and implement Improvement Opportunities related to product quality.
- Manage the Integrated Quality Management System for the site (FSSC including HACCP) ensuring the effective operation and Implementation of Quality Procedures and Standards
- Manage compliance to Specifications through the Laboratory responsible for ensuring compliance to set standards/ specifications on raw material and packaging and process and product compliance through process control. Identify and implement Improvement Opportunities related to product quality.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints.
- Managing the Food Safety System (including internal and process audits) on site, as well as assist with Supplier Audits against the AIB standard
- Liaise with suppliers on quality and technical issues.
- Manage the cleaning contract and pest control contract.
- Manage industrial relations issues and ensure competency development of the team
- Operational budgeting and cost control
- Competency development of teams, including mentoring and coaching
- Managing industrial relations

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Experience**:

- A minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quality Assurance Manager within the FMCG / Food Production Industry

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in Food Science or any related qualification is essential
- Experience in Quality preferably within the FMCG Industry spanning at least 5 years

**Additional Requirements**:

- Knowledge of FSSC 22000 and AIB
- Exposure to a unionized environment is essential
- Knowledge of SAP
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
