Coordinate and lead dispatch teams, managing schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely response to calls. Responsible for optimising the workflow, resolving operational issues, and maintaining effective communication between dispatchers and field personnel. Responsible for tracking vehicle movements, communicating with drivers, and implementing efficient routing strategies to optimize resources.
**Responsibilities will include**:
Training
Performance evaluation utilising KPI's
Implementing procedures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
Route planning
Working closely with the production team
Managing schedules
Assigning tasks to dispatchers
Ensuring timely deliveries
Employee training
**Required**:
Experience
Substantial experience in dispatch or related roles, demonstrating a deep understanding of transportation logistics.
Leadership skills
Strong leadership qualities to effectively manage and guide a team of dispatchers.
Communication skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with drivers, team members, and other stakeholders.
Organisational skills
Exceptional organisational abilities to manage schedules, prioritise tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Problem-solving aptitude
Adept at quick decision-making and problem-solving to address operational challenges and ensure smooth dispatch operations.
Knowledge of transportation regulations
Thorough understanding of relevant transportation regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
Technology proficiency
Familiarity with dispatching software, GPS systems, and other relevant technologies to optimise routing and track vehicle movements.
Customer service orientation
Ability to maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
Adaptability
Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust dispatch strategies as needed.
Analytical skills
Analytical mindset for reviewing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance overall efficiency.
