**An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Sourcing Specialist in the Merchandise Procurement Division of The Foschini Group. **Key activities include**:

- Serve as the primary contact between the trading division, and Global/regional and locally Direct Sourced suppliers to establish, maintain and enhance business relationships
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with all aspects of the Value Chain for Global/regional and locally Direct Sourced suppliers
- Support purchasing/product strategies to achieve Aesthetics, Quality ,Cost, Reduced Lead Times and Delivery performance objectives to improve operational profitability
- Gather detailed cost elements and perform price analysis to ensure best cost price, while achieving agreed levels of quality and service
- Support supplier compliance with established quality, conformance and TFG company requirements
- Monitor performance and capabilities of suppliers and ensure that that effective remedial plans are implemented to address any performances below set KPI’s
- Conduct analysis of sales history and product forecasts for potential new and existing products
- Manage supplier performance through supplier scorecards, risk assessments and vendor due diligence

**Requirements**:

- Qualification in Clothing Management / Retail / Fashion Design or equivalent
- 5 - 8 years’ experience in a similar role
- 5 - 8 years’ Footwear Technical Product Knowledge
- Supply Chain & Manufacturing Experience
- Excellent Negotiation skills
- Critical analytical thinking
- High level persuading and influencing skills
- Multi-level Relationship management
- Strong Communication skills, both verbally and written
- Strong Organizational skills
- Ability to multi task and attention to details,
- Ability to deal with stress
- Proven merchandising & sourcing skills and understanding of the product creation process
- Must be able to acquire and understand a functional knowledge of company relevant products with the end use of the purpose of the sourcing commodities
