Investment Portfolio Manager

**Remuneration**:
The remuneration and value proposition to be compiled in collaboration with each successful individual.

**Nature of employment**:
The successful incumbent will be employed on a permanent basis after completion of a probationary period.

**Experience**
The successful incumbent will have at least three (3) to five (5) years experience as an investment portfolio manager

**Formal education and qualifications as a minimum requirement**
- Matric
- BCom Honours in finance/ statistics/ investments or relevant BSc degree
- Must be computer literate on an advanced level on Microsoft software with specific reference to Excel and PowerPoint
- Must have high initiative and entrepreneurial skills and must be able to work independently
- Must be able to address various clients, committees and boards of trustees, on their portfolios and economic trends, in both English and Afrikaans
- Valid drivers licence code 8
- Own transport and cellular telephone is mandatory

**Responsibilities**
- Full management of clients, including Medical Schemes, Universities, Municipalities, Churches, Colleges, Unions, Bargaining Councils and Personal Wealth Portfolios
- Development and implementation of investment policy statements and strategies for the abovementioned clients
- Collection and collation of data from the market in general for purposes of assessing historic movements as well as economic and financial factors that will influence the future investment environment
- Engagement with fund managers for purposes of reporting to clients and determination of market trends and movements as interpreted by different fund managers
- Investment administration and compliance on Growth and Cash Management Portfolios

Growth Portfolio

Analyse client portfolios according to various criteria, including:

- Risk assessment of client portfolios
- Asset class allocation in various types of products
- Monitoring of funds and fund managers performance
- Compliance with relevant client regulations
- Institutional allocation and fees comparisons
- Liquidity
- CPI and Cash linked to benchmarks as per agreement with the client

Client liaison: Monthly or quarterly reporting back on the clients total portfolio, including:

- Management summary
- Cash flow detail
- Value of investment and return on investment as at specified date comparing with the applicable benchmark
- Risk identification
- Asset class allocation
- Investment allocation between asset managers
- The latest economic and market information
- Recommendations

Short/ Medium Term Cash management via Assets Management solutions:
Analyse client portfolios according to various criteria, including:

- Risk assessment of client portfolios
- Monitoring of funds and fund managers performance
- Asset class allocation in various types of products
- Institutional allocation and fees comparisons
- Liquidity

Client liaison: Monthly or quarterly reporting back on the clients portfolio, including:

- Management summary
- Cash flow detail
- Value of investment and return on investment as at specified date comparing with the applicable benchmark
- Risk identification
- Investment allocation between asset managers
- Recommendations
