Amazon Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. It is our role to produce original content and license studio programs worldwide in exclusive service of Amazon’s Prime Video customers. We need your passion, innovative ideas, and creativity to help take us to new heights.
We are currently seeking a Scripted & Movies Development Executive to work with our South Africa Originals development team, based in Cape Town. You will have experience in scripted series and/or feature film development, with the ability to identify material and talent. You will be able to give creative guidance and feedback to top level writers on outlines, scripts and creative pitch documents. Using your knowledge of top tier film and premium television and film talent, you will build on your previous industry relationships and develop new ones. You will be joining a self-motivated, passionate and collaborative team environment.
Key job responsibilities
Support the development of South Africa local television series and source creative materials based on Amazon Studios Local Originals content goals by:
- Identifying potential new creative talent.
- Reviewing scripts, treatments and pitches to shortlist for senior leadership approval.
- Working with writers to develop stories and scripts, and providing local creative insights in relation to would likely appeal to South African viewers.
- Conducting research as maintaining databases of market information and industry trends.
- Assisting with oversight of all creative aspects of series development, production and post-production;
- Communicating effectively with leadership and other stakeholders of the Amazon Originals team including but not limited to: marketing, business affairs, legal, PR, creative, production, and post-production teams; and
- Overseeing series in pre, production and post with oversight from Head of Scripted and Movies.
