The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) is a registered private higher education provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADvTECH Ltd, listed on the JSE.
The IIE’s Central Academic Team (CAT) is the custodian of academic quality, educational technology, and governance across the institution. It leads academic strategy, compliance, and operational integrity through robust governance structures.
The current CAT is in the process of being repositioned as a Centre of Excellence, a hub for academic innovation, staff capacity building, quality assurance, and governance across both the schools and tertiary divisions.
**The purpose of the job**:
To coordinate and support institutional quality assurance and accreditation projects, ensuring effective planning, communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. The role supports progress tracking, submission readiness, and alignment of project outcomes with strategic quality goals, contributing to the institution's readiness for national and international audits, reviews, and strategic positioning.

**Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position**:
Project Coordination and Delivery Support
- Coordinate institutional QA and accreditation projects end-to-end
- Maintain project plans, timelines, and task lists for teams
- Schedule meetings, briefings, and reviews
- Ensure timely delivery of key project outputs and milestones
- Escalate risks or delays and propose mitigation strategies
Accreditation Tracking and Reporting
- Maintain logs of accreditation submissions, deadlines, and institutional responses
- Track progress of accreditation projects using defined indicators
- Compile regular status updates for management reporting
- Support follow-up actions from quality audits and reviews
- Assist in identifying trends, risks, and opportunities from review outcomes
Document Preparation and Submission Management
- Support document collection, formatting, and compilation for CHE, DHET, or international accreditation submissions
- Coordinate collation of evidence for site visits, SERs, and reviews
- Maintain version control and documentation integrity
- Ensure submissions align with institutional QA standards and deadlines
- Prepare submission packs and arrange delivery or upload as required
Stakeholder Engagement and Liaison Role
- Ensure stakeholders are briefed and updated throughout project phases
- Manage queries and information requests
- Facilitate access to relevant systems, platforms, or data
- Promote collaboration and responsiveness throughout the project lifecycle
Continuous Improvement and Project Learnings
- Record lessons learned after project completion
- Contribute to QA process refinements based on project experiences
- Develop tools and templates to improve future project delivery
- Support internal reflection sessions and project closure reports
- Promote institutional knowledge transfer and capacity development
**Qualification**
- Bachelor’s Degree
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 3 years as an Project Coordinator/Administrator
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Higher Education/QA
