The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) is a registered private higher education provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADvTECH Ltd, listed on the JSE.

The IIE’s Central Academic Team (CAT) is the custodian of academic quality, educational technology, and governance across the institution. It leads academic strategy, compliance, and operational integrity through robust governance structures.

The current CAT is in the process of being repositioned as a Centre of Excellence, a hub for academic innovation, staff capacity building, quality assurance, and governance across both the schools and tertiary divisions.

**The purpose of the job**:
The Academic Operations Coordinator supports the effective functioning of national academic operations by coordinating a central portfolio, which will include, but not be restricted to, one or more of the following: The two brands' Academic Master, Academic Calendar, and/or National Assessment Schedule. The role is to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment across campuses, providing critical academic infrastructure that underpins the planning and delivery of the academic project. The role must ensure that academic data, schedules, and documentation are accurate, current, and available to key stakeholders and systems.

**Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position**:
Academic Project Coordination
- Develop, maintain, update, and quality assure the applicable academic project (Academic Master and/or Academic Calendar and/or National Assessment Schedule).
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure institutional alignment regarding the applicable project.- Compile, update, and disseminate the appropriate reports regarding the applicable project; monitor and report on progress as required, and flag risk where appropriate.

Stakeholder Engagement & Support
- Act as the liaison between institutions, campuses, CAT teams, and external stakeholders on academic operations-related processes and queries.

Reporting, Compliance & Data Integrity- Generate reports and schedules, and identify inconsistencies that support institutional reporting and action plans.

**Qualification**
- Minimum of an Honours Degree

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years in an Academic Administration or Operations Role
- Minimum of 5 years in an Academic Project Delivery Role

**Other Special Requirements**:
