- Summary:
- Lead all manufacturing engineering, encompassing capital and process development projects, providing superior technical knowledge. Responsible for providing leadership, outstanding people skills and management to the team. Responsible for installation, maintenance and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. The role has full budgetary responsibility for the department. Implement and manage continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Minimum Qualification:
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- GCC accredited, either electrical or mechanical
- Trade tested in electrical/mechanical/millwright
- 15 years in Engineering, maintenance & projects in manufacturing industry
- 8 years post qualification experience in GMRII role
- Essential Job Functions:
- The Maintenance Manager is responsible to provide leadership, strategic direction and to ensure regulatory compliance in engineering, maintenance, facilities, utilities, maintenance planning and projects.
- Ensure safe, reliable operations, practices, and compliance with OHS Act, all associated regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Put in place and ensure the effectiveness of management systems and processes to comply with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements.
- Implement and ensure the effectiveness of engineering and inspection management systems and processes, in order to deliver asset integrity and legal compliance.
- Continuous improvement and direct assistance to ensure the ISO certifications are maintained.
- Ensure effective maintenance management systems and processes to deliver reliability of the plant, utilities, and facilities.
- Implement reliability centered maintenance and develop effective maintenance strategies.
- Ensure defect elimination and vulnerability studies are conducted as part of asset and infrastructure strategy.
- Maintenance execution and effective preventative maintenance on the plant, utilities, facilities and the infrastructure.
- Ensure 100% equipment availability and reliability to meet set targets in support of the Company strategy.
- Maintenance planning and execution for plant, utilities, facilities and infrastructure.
- Continuous improvement in spares philosophy and total management thereof.
- Build and ensure continuous improvement project on project processes and management systems, governance, and controls.
- Develop in-house capability to flawlessly executive major projects.
- Build enduring technical organisational capability.
- Manage the performance, people development and recruitment of staff in the department and ensure a competent, engaged and multi-skilled workforce.- Key skills:
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Track record of production process improvements.
- O.E.E result driven.
- Implementation of an engineering KPI measurement
- Extensive experience in industrial automation (PLCs and drives)
- Advanced electrical problem-solving experience.
- Must have production process experience.
- Excellent experience of scheduled, predictive, and preventative maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge of all utilities
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays when required.
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety.
- Extensive project management (CAPEX) experience
