- Co-ordinate and direct the execution plans, operational planning and execution activities to ensure world class collaborative planning and control of supply and demand and optimisation in the network ensuring smooth product delivery to the customers

**What you’ll have done before**:
Baseline:
- NQF Level 6 (Diploma in Supply Chain/Retail/ Marketing or related)
- 5years experience in Retail Assortment Planning (within the discipline of buying, space planning, floor planning & assortment)
- Knowledge of Regional Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Advantageous:
- Specialist experience with JDA AO
- 3 years’ experience in a Leadership/ Specialist role within Supermarket/ Food Retailing
**Exciting Challenges you might face in the role**:
- Identify and liaise with stakeholders (IT or BP) on any issues and challenges regarding processes or systems to ensure efficient business operations
- Identify potential improvement areas and recommend new developments for the Assortment Optimisation and other related systems and processes
- Ensure collaboration with teams and promote capability through training and upskilling sessions to ensure outputs are sustainably embedded into operation requirements
- Liaise with floor & space planning teams on best ways to execute special or non-standard tasks on key trading periods, major event changes or any other challenges
- Drive cross group business initiatives.
- Identify assortment opportunities through collaboration with the Category Managers and/or market trends
- Understand and implement business strategies
**What you’ll be doing**:
- Optimise the assortment system to ensure that the relevant assortment planning processes and systems are fit for current purposes and for future, through benchmarking and recommendations
- Provide data analysis to management to ensure informed decision making with a view to substantiate the categories and improve the profits across the NFR business
- Assess and monitor customer satisfaction indicators across the NFR business to ensure attainment of NFR and category strategies
- Provide support on relevant systems or escalate queries to IT as required
- Ensure that the optimal merchandising techniques are utilized in creating the best assortments for the various categories as required
- Optimise the input parameters that drive AO as required
- Collaborate with the categories and assortment planning teams on ways to execute tasks over key trading periods
- Monitor and understand demand plan accuracy with to ensure minimisation of inaccuracies and their impact
- Ensure availability of stock, in collaboration with demand planners
- Identify, propose and prioritise required improvements/ new developments for on related assortment planning processes and methods to ensure efficient business operations
- Participate in any relevant training to ensure that new ways of assortment planning are incorporated into the Engen NFR ways of working.
