**Position Description**: Planner

An exciting and challenging position has become available in the Planning Department of Toy Kingdom for a Merchandise Planner. As a Planner, you will create and develop the financial plan through effective category & demand forecasting for the business. You will be accountable to ensure balanced stock and product assortments in store, to effect stock turn levels & increase market share. The Merchandise Planner is responsible for monitoring the adequacy of stock levels in relation to the category demand plans and generating replenishment purchase orders on suppliers to meet our customer’s demands in those stores

**Responsibilities**:

- Influencing and implementing the brand's merchandise strategy
- High-level category demand and supply plans
- Monitoring category performance to take appropriate action
- Implement the brand strategy according to store turnover and profile
- Store and category-related analysis
- Reporting and recommendations regarding category performance
- Replenishment management
- Create and track to merchandise financial plan
- Promotional sales quantification
- Effective communication with operations and the merchandise team
- Oversee replenishment via product forecasting and create relevant demand forecast for suppliers
- Implementing and managing markdowns
- Managing monthly forecasts by category & brand
- Management of the range assortments and replenishment
- Management and implementation of distribution strategy
- Compile and analyse reports on stock performance, supplier performance and forecast accuracy
- Work with marketing to ensure sufficient stock for promotions and advise the marketing team regarding necessary promotions. Quantifying of
- and forecasting for promotions.
- Matriculation certificate (Grade 12)
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- A high degree of numeracy and an analytical, detailed approach to work
- Passionate about retail
- A team player
- Ability to problem solve
- Resilient and tenacious in a fast-paced environment
- Strong skills in MS Excel & Word and relevant systems
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills
