Retail Planner (Allocator) Me&B Woodstock, Cape Town Reports to : Managing Director About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Retail Planner (Allocator) to join the ME&B team. This role is critical in ensuring the right product is in the right store at the right time across our stores and e-commerce platform. The Retail Planner will balance stock levels, optimize allocations, and ensure each store has an assortment tailored to its capacity and customer base. This person will partner closely with the retail manager (who oversees people and store operations), as well as with buying, production, and logistics teams, to maximize sales and reduce stock imbalances. Key Responsibilities Manage allocations across stores and e-commerce, ensuring correct stock flow for each location. Replenish stores daily / weekly based on sales trends, capacity, and assortment requirements. Proactively shift stock between stores and warehouse to reduce markdowns and maximize sell-through, ensuring systems accuracy. Support seasonal launches by planning allocations per store, considering size curves, sales history, and space capacity. Partner with buying to provide input on buy quantities and store distribution. Monitor sales and inventory weekly to highlight bestsellers, slow movers, and missed opportunities. Provide reports on sell-through, stock cover, stock-to-sales ratio, and replenishment efficiency. Assist in building seasonal allocation strategies for different store formats and customer profiles. Work hand-in-hand with the Retail Manager to ensure stock supports store performance goals. Liaise with production and logistics to align deliveries with allocation needsmunicate clearly with store managers about stock deliveries, replenishments, and product priorities. Skills & Experience 3–5 years' experience in retail planning, allocation, or merchandise planning (fashion industry preferred). Proven experience managing multi-store allocations (10+ stores is an advantage). Strong analytical and numerical ability; confident in Excel / Google Sheets and stockmanagement systemsmercial mindset with an understanding of store formats, product trends, andcustomer behavior. Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities. Strong communicator and collaborator with cross-functional teams.
