Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute merchandise plans and strategies in line with company objectives and market trends.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Forecast and monitor sales and inventory levels to ensure optimum stock levels are maintained at all times.
- Collaborate with buying and merchandising teams to develop assortment plans that meet customer needs and target market segments.
- Conduct regular store visits and analyses to evaluate product performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose appropriate actions.
- Create and manage open-to-buy (OTB) plans to optimize inventory allocation and turnover.
- Develop and implement promotional strategies and markdown plans to drive sales and minimize losses.
- Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to ensure optimal product placement and display in-store.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, sell-through, margin, and inventory turnover to drive business growth.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform planning decisions.
- Provide regular reports and analysis to management on category performance, sales trends, and inventory status.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective business strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Planner within the fashion retail industry, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret and draw insights from data.
- Proficient in merchandise planning systems and tools.
- Excellent knowledge of retail mathematics, inventory management, and merchandise planning principles.
- Ability to forecast sales and manage inventory at store and SKU level.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advantageous systems e.g. Oracle, ProClarity and PLM.
