We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
As a Production Manager at Espresso Bakery, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Utilizing your knowledge of Lean principles, you will lead efforts to standardize processes, increase flow, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Production Oversight**: Supervise and coordinate all aspects of the production process, including raw material preparation, baking, and packing, to ensure timely completion of orders while meeting quality standards.
- **Team Management**: Lead and motivate teams of production staff to maintain standards and improve productivity. Provide coaching, training, and support as needed to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and waste. Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to create optimal forecasts and minimize shortages.
- **Safety Compliance**: Enforce food safety and occupational safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe product and working environment. Conduct regular internal audits, participate in external audits, and provide an appropriate, prompt response to safety concerns or incidents.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement projects. Encourage employee involvement and collaboration to drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree or diploma in engineering, business management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in production management, preferably in a bakery or food production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean principles and methodologies, with demonstrated experience in implementing Lean initiatives.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve common goals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices preferred.
