**THE OPPORTUNITY**

We have an opportunity for a **Buyer** to join our **Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics** team, based in Stellenbosch. The purpose of this role is to manage and develop the buying of raw materials and packaging. The successful incumbent will ensure that the supply of goods into the business is managed effectively, efficiently and in line with agreed company objectives.

**DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage the demand planning and stock ordering processes in adherence to Hungry Lion’s processes and practices.
- Work closely with Operations and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
- Place valid orders with key suppliers when necessary.
- Monitor orders to prepare, prompt and follow up with stakeholders regarding supply.
- Track and ensure the on-time delivery of goods.
- Actively contribute to operational and planning meetings.
- Manage shipping/courier documentation and liaise with relevant agents.
- Ensure that due dates on purchase orders are kept up to date.
- Responsible for the in-stock levels within the agreed inventory parameters.
- Update reports regularly.
- Assist with account queries.
- Be involved with new product/range launches.
- Liaise with key suppliers on a regular basis.
- Develop SLAs and performance measurements with suppliers.
- Build and maintain professional and ethical supplier relationships.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/ Logistics.
- 2-3 years experience within a similar role.
- Competent in Google Workspace.
- Valid driver’s licence.
