**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance with environmental authorisations and license's on site, in accordance with applicable South African environmental legislation.
- Track and monitor compliance with environmental requirements and regulations, identifying areas of improvement and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct daily inspections and monitoring activities to assess and document environmental conditions and compliance status on site.
- Provide on-site support to the Group Environment department, assisting with environmental initiatives, programs, and projects.
- Maintain an updated complaints register and promptly address and resolve environmental complaints raised by stakeholders.
- Report environmental incidents and non-compliances to the relevant authorities and management, ensuring appropriate corrective measures are implemented.
- Manage waste management activities on site, including waste disposal, recycling programs, and compliance with waste management regulations.
- Implement and oversee alien and invasive species management programs, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
- Provide assistance to General Managers regarding environmental aspects, offering guidance and expertise in environmental management practices.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
- National Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of South African Environmental Legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as an environmental officer, preferably within the mining industry or related sectors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex environmental concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

**Salary**: R40,000.00 per month
