**Purpose of the job**

The Assistant Accountant within the Record to Report FSSC function will own the outcomes of the Record to Report Banking team and drive the execution and sound control environment that governs the day-to-day general banking processes for the trading and services divisions within TFG.

The role will report directly to the Team Manager: R2R.

**Job Requirements**
- As part of a team of Assistant Accountants-Banking, this role will be responsible for the efficient and effective posting of bank journals, bank clearings, bank account processing, reconciliations, and assisting with all financial month end and year end activities.
- This role will be responsible for ensuring deliverables are achieved as per the time and quality standards agreed in the Record to Report SLAs.
- Process and perform bank processing and bank queries for all divisions;
- Process bank journals and journal adjustments for all divisions;
- Assist R2R Team Manager in bank reconciliations preparation and feedback for all divisions;
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping for all accounting and bank activities for audit purposes;
- Work alongside the Record to report teams to ensure all month end and year end processes are accurate and completed as per the agreed timelines and guidelines;
- Where required, escalated all requests and queries accurately and timeously to the Team Manager.
- Work closely with Group Treasury with all day-to-day general banking processes, bank account clearings and queries.
- Prepare the necessary daily, weekly and monthly reporting which is cascaded internally and externally showing the status and updates relating to the R2R banking teams

**Experience**
- 2-5 years of relevant working experience (Preferably in Banking or Treasury)
- Experience in team management and execution
- SAP knowledge an advantage

**Qualification**
- Matric required
- National Diploma in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
