Terrasan Group,
an investment holding company, has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced full-time
Senior Accountant.

The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and adaptable in terms of function and will report directly to the Terrasan Chairman.

Primary purpose of position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant in Cape Town to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the company's financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate and timely financial insights.

Key performance Areas for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Manage general ledger reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Support board with financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
  • All Compliance and Taxes: Preparation of the monthly VAT return, filing and payment
  • Preparation of the PAYE and CIT return, filing and payment
  • CIPC and other Statutory submissions
  • Annual renewal of insurance
  • Management of the relationship with Terrasan bankers, auditors and insures

Minimum Requirements & Competencies

  • An appropriate accounting, Finance, or a related field qualification.
  • 5 years' experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Understanding of IFRS and tax legislation.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage- Accpac systems) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A valid unendorsed code B (8) driver's license
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
