Required experience:

- 6+ years' experience as solution architecture and design practitioner
- Recent practical experience with cloud workload migration/greenfields initiatives in Banking/Insurance/ICT/Retail industries (preferably Azure)
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems architectures and exposure to diverse technologies and processing environments.

Duration of Contract: 12 months

**Job Description**:

- Job Specification
- Translates business requirements into a usable solution architecture and roadmap
- Analyse and validate requirements and constraints to enable effective development of cloud products and services.
- Develops and communicates architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Lead in the design of project conceptual and logical architectures and roadmaps, recommending the most suitable approach in alignment with the enterprise architecture.
- Model architectural artefacts using recognised modelling techniques across various layers of abstraction.
- Plan and estimate programmes of systems development work to time, budget and quality targets, as well as alignment with agreed architectures and standards.
- Provides advice on the procurement and commissioning of cloud products and services, as well as the business case for alternative sourcing models. Helps with the management of formal contracts for the supply of products and services.
- Provides assurance over the integrity and appropriateness of solution architecture designs, using the organisation's approved standards

- Representative in architecture and design-related forum(s) as a key decision-making stakeholder
- Monitor regulatory and compliance guidelines to determine the impact on solution architecture

**Skills**:

- Skilled in different cloud service models, cloud deployment models and key concepts:

- Hybrid multi-cloud architectures (incl. Azure, AWS, and private)
- Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, OCP, Rancher, etc.)
- DevOps and CI/CD automation (Azure DevOps, Atlassian)

- Information security (industry standards for cryptographic controls, Identity and Access Management (IAM), secure audit logging)
- Skilled in various cloud components and services (landing zones, ingress/egress, API gateways, processing, persistence, and cross-cutting value-added services).
- Skilled in optimising workload architectures in a hybrid multi-cloud environment.
- Excellent client/user interaction skills to determine requirements.
- Strong relationship building skills
- Planning and organising skills
- Required qualifications:

- BSc Computer Science, BCom Information Systems / Informatics or a similarly relevant degree

Certifications:

- Cloud architect certifications, e.g., Azure and/or AWS
- Architecture practice and modelling-related certifications e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, UML, etc.
- Architecture tooling certifications & experience e.g., iServer, Sparx, etc.
- Supporting technology or business domain certifications
