**Your role and responsibilities**:
Local business leader responsible for portfolio management of Medium Voltage Primary Switchgear within the Southern Africa Region including product management, strategy, business development, marketing, pricing, go-to-market strategy, and footprint optimization. Responsible to define and ensure implementation of the portfolio strategy, maximize portfolio performance, and deliver expected growth and profitability results. Core Responsibilities - Designs and implements the portfolio/product group strategy and ensures profitable business growth, organically and inorganically. - Ensures the development of performance targets in line with global targets and ensures achievement through regular oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed. - Evaluates market opportunities and decides on appropriate activities in line with the strategy. - Develops and manages the products, solutions, systems, and/or service portfolio continuously to achieve and secure market leadership. - Defines portfolio roadmap: product and solution streamlining, acquisition targets for portfolio synergies, and development opportunities. - Ensures profitable business growth in the identified markets through optimized production and supply chain footprints and competitive distribution and go-to-market strategy. - Monitors strategic quality metrics, identifies opportunities for improvement in local execution, and oversees improvement activities. - Ensures the execution of portfolio projects according to agreed targets in terms of schedule, quality, financial results, and customer satisfaction. - Oversees relevant local Research and Development initiatives, as applicable. Collaboration / Leadership - Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. - Promotes and enables collaboration in the division, across divisions and business areas to maximize results for ABB. - Ensures that the business organization is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. - Inspires, guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. - Builds effective, competent, and high-performing teams. - Hires, coaches, and develops talent across all layers. - Reviews organizational effectiveness and performs competence assessments and continuous skill upgrades.

**Qualifications for the role**:

- Electrical tertiary qualification or similar (Diploma or Degree)
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in medium voltage.
- Strong customer-centric approach with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Effective decision-making skills to address complex challenges.
- Proficient in strategic planning and execution to meet business objectives.
- Demonstrates excellent self-management and organizational capabilities.
