Human Resources Assistant

**Dermalogica is recruiting a dynamic and organised HR Administrator for a Fixed-term contract (maternity cover). Gain HR Generalist experience, be a part of driving the company culture and assist with any talent-related queries and initiatives**.
**Key Responsibilities**:
The role will include, but not be limited to:
- Assist the HR manager and HR Executive with the implementation of the HR Business Plan and adhoc assistance where necessary
- Assist with the coordination of Employee Engagement Initiatives as well as events and celebrations
- Field queries and provide HR-related support to the team.
- Recruitment
- Draft offer documentation
- Payroll and administration
- Coordinate onboarding set up and administration as well as the offboarding administration
- Assist the HR Manager with monthly payroll input and checking
- Compliance administration
- Assist with collating documentation for labour department inspections
- Assist with OH&S compliance
- Industrial relations
- Support the Area Managers and HR Manager with IR queries
- Systems and reporting
- Maintain the leave approval system and manage queries (ESS) and VIP changes
- Update departmental trackers such as recruitment and training attendance trackers and leave reports.
**Qualifications**
- HR / Organisational Psychology or equivalent diploma or degree
**Experience required**:
- 1 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in recruitment and selection
- Industrial relations knowledge experience is an advantage
**Competencies and characteristics**:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel
- Highly organised with admin, planning and time management
- Attention to detail
- Excellent people and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Integrity/trustworthy
- Dynamic, resilient and solution-orientated
**Work Environment**:
This is a full-time position based out of our Dermalogica office in Parktown, Johannesburg.
The HR Assistant reports directly to the HR Manager.
This is a 4-month contract position ending 31 May 2025. Ideally, we’d like this individual to start as soon as possible.
