CapeNature seeks to employ an experienced Communication Officer to join their Advocacy team. This role requires an individual who is excellent in corporate and creative writing and editing, experienced in media relations, and well versed in corporate and employee communication. The successful individual will be based at CapeNature’s Head Office in Bridgetown (Cape Town), occasionally traveling to reserves for content generation and stakeholder engagements across the Western Cape.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**KPA 1 - Manage production of internal and external communication products and services**

Research, compile, write, edit, oversee design and distribute publications for both in-house consumption and external audiences such as weekly newsletters, quarterly staff newsletters, corporate and marketing documents. At times this will also involve writing specifications and managing service providers. Assist with public enquiries.

**KPA 2 - Deliver a corporate and creative writing and editing service**

**KPA 3 - Assist with execution of media strategy**

Manage daily media monitoring, write weekly media monitoring reports, input into monthly media dashboard, draw analytics for various reports, ensure that targets are met, keep media database up to date, handle media enquiries, comply with entity’s Media Management Policy, promote media relations, manage media events.

**KPA 4 - Render a support service to staff ito corporate communication and events**

Ensure brand compliance across the entity and manage brand collateral, manage work flow of component via project management system, support corporate events, facilitate a Language service.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Three-year National Diploma or Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Communication Science, or related disciplines. (NQF level 6).
- At least 4 years’ experience in a media liaison, communication or relevant role.
- Proven excellent language proficiency in English.
- CV/portfolio must include examples of writing in English.
- A valid Code B drivers’ license
