**The main purpose**: The Communications Officer is responsible for the implementation of key internal and external communication and public relations initiatives, including the production and delivery of all relevant collateral, online and media projects. The job entails supporting the Head of Marketing, who manages the organisation’s internal and external communications.
**Reporting to the**:The Head of Marketing
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
**1) Communication**
- Develop and implement internal and external communications plans.
- Take responsibility for the management of CTICC's website and Intranet content, including keeping content relevant.
- Providing content regularly, while tracking metrics and monitoring relevant conversations.
- Copy-write and produce key CTICC publications such as the client newsletter.
- Seek opportunity for industry awards and compile award motivation in order to enhance brand awareness of the centre or its employees.
- Provide communication support to projects.
- Assist in the compilation of the organisation’s Integrated Annual Report.
**2) Media**
- To execute the centre’s media strategy across all media platforms, including press, broadcast and social media.
- Research and write copy for external articles and press releases to position CTICC as an industry leader in the meetings and event’s industry.
- Maintain relationships with the media and manage a comprehensive media database.
**3) Procurement**
- Source and negotiate with suppliers, obtain quotations and process invoices.
- Input requisitions on Enterprise Business Management System (EBMS).
- Ensure compliance with Supply Chain Management (SCM) policy.
**4) Administration**
- Assist in the collection of press clippings in order to build a historical archive of press coverage of the CTICC.
- Manage the centre’s stakeholder and VIP client databases.
- Assist with the compilation of all performance reports of the Marketing Division, such as quarterly and customer satisfaction survey reports.
**5) Stakeholder Management**
- Assist in the planning and execution of various stakeholder and media events.
**Minimum Qualifications and experience required**:
- Diploma in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations (NQF Level 6) or higher.
- At least three (3) years’ experience working in the field of communications or public relations.
- Experience working with websites, including, producing content for the web and knowledge of content management systems.
- Experience working with e-communications, including preparing and sending e-newsletters.

- Research, writing, editing, copywriting and presentations skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Organisational & planning skills.
- Attention to detail.
