**1.1. Job Purpose**:
The HR Officer will take immediate responsibility for the execution of Recruitment, Learning and Development, Career and Performance Management, Staff Establishment Management, Learnerships, Employee Wellness and administration to support the Head of HR and provide measurable value to the business - across all Business Units of Barrows Africa.
**1.2. Describe the role and its core responsibilities**:
**Recruitment**
- Facilitate and execute the entire recruitment cycle alongside managers and Head of HR.
- Liaise with Shared Services to advertise by providing signed off Blue Print and Requisition forms.
- Ensure internal advertising is placed on all notice boards by liaising with HR Officer responsible for Communication.
- Ensure SLA’s are in place, and approved by Head of HR, prior to using any Recruitment Agency.
- Ensure Recruitment is done in accordance to actual business need and legislative processes.
- Provide monthly report on status of vacant positions and recruitment process underway.
**Learning and Development**
- Coordinate Learning and Development initiatives by liaising with Leadership regarding development needs.
- Maintain and minute monthly meetings with Team Leads / Supervisors about Learning and Development needs / requirements.
- Develop and implement innovative Learning initiatives alongside Leadership and the Head of HR.
- Ensure collaboration with People Partner responsible for statutory reporting at all times.
- Facilitate and manage the Internship / Work Experience / Graduate Programmes.
- Conduct Training Needs analysis and provide a monthly report to the Head of HR.
- Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure maximum SETA Grant rebates for the Company.
**Career and Performance Management**
- Ensure Job Descriptions are up to date and in alignment with approved Blue Prints.
- Assist leadership with Performance Management and Succession Planning.
- Assist employees with career management and developing PDPs.
**Staff Establishment Management**
- Maintain Staff Establishment in collaboration with Leadership and the Head of HR (Google Sheets).
- Send Staff Establishments to Leadership on a monthly basis for sign off and alignment.
- Create and maintain Organizational Structures for all departments.
**Learnerships**
- Responsible for the entire Learnership Cycle in collaboration with the HR Officer for Statutory processes - this include liaising with service providers (Signa and Peoplewise).
- Responsible for the entire YES Program in collaboration with the HR Officer for Statutory processes - this include liaising with service providers (Signa and Peoplewise).
- Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure maximum SETA Grant rebates for the Company.
**Employee Wellness**
- Ensure close collaboration with the BeWell Clinic.
- Develop and implement innovative Wellness initiatives alongside Leadership and the Head of HR.
- Assist Leadership and / or employees with matters pertaining to Wellness.
- Work closely with Shared Services to ensure Entry, Annual and Exit medicals for all employees.
**Administration**
- Assist Head of HR with relevant reporting and administration assistance to ensure successful project completion and operational requirements.
- Ensure accurate execution information and business communication between relevant departments and business units to ensure consistency in streamlining flow of information.
**Ad Hoc Duties**
**1.3. Minimum requirements/experience & Skills**:
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a Generalist role.
- Understanding of Manufacturing & Production environment.
- Strong understanding and implementation of holistic HR life cycle.
- Strong understanding of Industrial Relations and Labour Legislation.
- Strong administration skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Analytical and Critical Thinking.
- Relationship Building.
- High Energy levels.
**1.4 Minimum qualifications**:
- Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study and / or equivalent work experience.
