**Senior Procurement and Bids Officer** **4-Year Contract Post** This position includes the following functions; internal and external stakeholder management; client needs assessment; compilation of specifications/terms of reference; requesting and verifying quotations from suppliers; assisting with or conducting bidding processes; preference goals calculations; maintaining supplier database; checking and monitoring compliance to legislation; organizational and national policies; regulations; framework and guidelines applicable to SCM; managing and administering bid process activities; assisting in developing strategic and operational plans on sourcing of goods and services; acting as a BBBEE verification processor; and any duties as directed by the manager or delegated officials. **Key Responsibility Areas will include the following**: - **Advise SAMRC stakeholders on Legislations and SAMRC Policies and procedures.**: - **Address End-Users on or about SCM processes.**: - **Use of electronic supplier database to acquire goods and services.**: - **Sourcing goods or services supplies to an agreed specification.**: - **Address end-user’s procurement queries.**: - **Supplier engagements - follow-up on quotes or address CSD queries.**: - **Advertising of the bids on Government Tender bulletin, e-Tenders and SAMRC website.**: - **Assist in the preliminary vetting and documenting.**: - **Assist in facilitating questions and answers from bidders during the bid process.**: - **Organizing Bid Evaluation Meetings and draft EMC reports.** **Core Requirements**: - An appropriate 3-year National Diploma in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics or equivalent relevant qualification - 2-3 years’ relevant experience in a Supply Chain environment - Project management experience required - A valid driver’s license **Added Advantage** - Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain Management - Solid 2 years’ experience in Tender or supply chain administration in a research-focused environment **A salary in the region of **R 293 027 per annum**, cost-to-company will be negotiated in consideration of experience and qualifications. **Closing date: 12 September 2024** **PLEASE** **QUOTE** **THE** **REFERENCE** **NUMBER** **(R769A)** **IN ALL COMMUNICATIONS.
