Description:
A popular restaurant and wine bar in Stellenbosch, seeks a skilled General Manager to oversee operational management and customer service. Responsible for setting and maintaining SOPs, training and managing the FOH team, and ensuring a welcoming ambience, success in this role is measured by seamless guest experiences, profitability through cost control, and exceptional service. The General Manager plays a pivotal role in the organization, collaborating with the FOH management team and chef(s), contributing to marketing strategies, and impacting overall profitability and reputation as a premier dining destination in Stellenbosch.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operational tasks, including staff training materials.
- Ensure all junior managers and staff are properly trained to deliver high-quality service in line with customer expectations.
- Oversee the management of the Front of House (FOH) environment, including seating layout, ambience, and cleanliness.
- Manage and motivate FOH staff, including rostering, leave, and disciplinary matters.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards by training staff to welcome guests and provide efficient and friendly service.
- Supervise daily cash-up and manage petty cash and company credit card transactions.
- Handle inventory management of wine, spirits, beverages, and barista stock, including supplier relationships and stock quality control.
- Implement cost control measures to minimize wastage and achieve targeted input-cost percentages.
- Monitor and optimize profitability through turnover control strategies, including upselling and customer relationship management.
- Assist with the planning and management of functions and events.
- Promote the business to customers, suppliers, and tourism organizations, emphasizing positive reviews on social media.
- Foster effective communication between FOH and BOH staff and engage in strategic planning and contingencies.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and seek satisfactory outcomes to prevent negative social media feedback.
- Collaborate with management and Directors in operations meetings and be available for emergencies when off-site.

**Salary**: R20,000.00 - R30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Stellenbosch, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
