General leadership within the position **What You Have Done Before**: - NQF Level 7 (Degree in BSC (Mech) Engineering, B Tech (Mech)) - PR Registration with ECSA - Industry ( Oil /Petrochemical ) Operations >10 years - Conceptual design development - Process configuration - Project Management Principles - Process engineer/Optimization - Strong HSEQ Background **Exciting Challenges You Might Face**: - Planning and economics experience in oil industry - Strategic business planning - Contract negotiations - Industry methodologies in project development - Technology provider liaison, interaction and facilitation **What You Will Be Doing**: **CAPEX PLANNING** - Identify and justify business opportunities; formulation into defined projects that are presented for approval to Capex comm/MC investment Comm. - Manage all inputs, Scope, documentation flow with the engineering contractor, Signed off scope of works by the customer. - All assumptions accurately reflect current industry trends, support by providing economic & production analysis. - Ensure systems operations as per design; comprehend in house SME, external best practices and strategic vision. - Ensure all design documentation meets requirements of customer. - Improving infrastructure efficiencies - Designs aligned to relevant codes and best practices **STRATEGIC STUDIES/PROJECT DEVELOPMENT** - Development of plans ito conceptual design project framing, long term business strategy comprehended in recommendations. - Scoping of these projects, review of technologies, support given to corporate by providing economic and production analysis, project scoping and design - All assumptions accurate and reflect current industry trends **INFRASTRUCTURAL DESIGN & RISK MANAGEMENT** - Manage all inputs, Scope, documentation flow with the engineering contractor Signed off scope of works by the customer. - Ensure systems operations as per design. - Ensure all design documentation meets requirements of customer. - Improving infrastructure efficiencies - Designs aligned to relevant codes and best practices - Lead the mobilization process of appointed contractors - Project Risks reviews and approvals in line with HSEQ - MOC's/HAZOP's/etc. documented and all risks adequately mitigated. - Project risk documented and record keeping. **PROJECT / CONSTRACTION MANAGEMENT** - Capex planning and forecasting - Up to date project plans and business kept informed. - Timeous completion of projects and customer engagement - Timeous charge-outs - Construction Management and quality reviews - Contactor performance management - Sign off handover documentation from Contractors and pre commissioning checks **HSEQ** - OHS ACT, QMS and HSEQ Policies and Procedures - Prepare HSEQ strategy for the project. - Develops and manages the contraction phase HSE program, maintain strict adherence and compliance to health, safety environment, quality and security standards. - Ensure that contractors on site work safe and adhere to Engen policies and procedure. - Manage the quality program and interfaces with external inspection authorities **FINANCES** - Prepare the business case for Investment Committee - Establish cost management process for the project. - Prepare cost reports with variance explanations for the Project review meetings. - Manage claims for scope creep and changes from Contractors. - Steward the Governance process for approval of project funds **Salary Grade**: - EH **Location**: - Durban **Job Advert Closing Date**: All job adverts close five days after date posted **Engen’s approved Employment Equity plans and targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.** **Important Information**: - The appointment will be made in line with Engen's Employment Equity Strategy. - Engen reserves the right not to make an appointment. **Job Segment**:Process Engineer, AutoCAD, CAD, Drafting, Change Management, Engineering, Management
