**Purpose of the Job**: The purpose of the Release Coordinator role is to manage the seamless execution of the release management process across release phases / environments, ensuring day-to-day processes are synchronized, and timelines, resources, and process quality are considered and accounted for, the correct components are released into production and the integrity of the live environment is protected and maintained. The Release Coordinator is a member of the Systems Team, where he or she can contribute to the development of the solution and learn about the conditions for its release to the Production environment. The role is responsible for taking ownership of release activities and guiding the release through the release process while maintaining stakeholder relationships by ensuring that all interconnected processes, business/technical requirements, test evidence, deployment steps, and roll-back plans are well coordinated, documented, and supplied. The duties can be classified as Release Planning, Release Build, Release Testing, Release Deployment, PostRelease Support, and Release Closure **Job Objectives**: Role Description Release Planning - Define and maintain a release plan that includes all relevant information for release process participants. - Identify and mitigate risks that may cause the release package to be delayed or halted. - Plan the release windows, cycles, and activities across portfolios and components. - Define the release schedule (timeline) and cooperate with the different teams involved in the release process. - Stakeholders should be informed about the release plan, as well as any changes and details. Release Build - Once development reaches the "Done" stage, accepts full accountability for the release. - Define the interdependencies between releases. - Work with software engineers to validate the release package's design. The release package is built by a technical resource - Work with the Product Owner to validate the release notes provided by external vendors. - Work with software engineers to comprehend code merges and build of the release package. - For a successful release, ensure that all requirements are clear across all dependent project streams (ARTs). Release Testing - Determine the technical environment's requirements and communicate with the responsible person to ensure that it is ready for testing. - Determine with the assistance of the Test team the types of tests required for the release package and develop an appropriate test plan. - Examine test results against the Test plan and obtain user approval to sign off on the test results **Qualifications**: Qualifications: - Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - (essential). **Experience**: Key competencies and work ethic Ability to implement AGILE work methods - Understands how the needs of the team and of the project vary across the phases of the life cycle.
