About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to recruit buyers for African content, support exhibitors and buyers, and oversee customer service initiatives for events. This role involves managing registration systems, buyer logistics, and ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Buyer Recruitment & Program Management:

- Recruit buyers for each event.
- Manage budgets, travel logistics (flights, hotels, visas, transfers), and buyer appointments.
- Build and maintain a database of qualified buyers.
- Serve as the main contact for buyers, ensuring smooth communication and travel arrangements.
- Conduct industry research and engage with potential buyers.
- Foster relationships with industry leaders to enhance buyer recruitment.
- Ensure a seamless event experience for buyers.

Customer Service Coordination:

- Address buyer and exhibitor queries with proactive solutions.
- Support virtual needs, including profile completion, exhibitor updates, and appointment scheduling.

Platform Oversight and Management:

- Collaborate with the Portfolio Director on the registration process.
- Ensure compliance and proper system integration for data and analytics.
- Support sales and marketing teams with system reporting and training.

Operational & Budget Management:

- Assist the Portfolio Director in managing budgets and cost control.
- Monitor expenses and drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Communication & Networking:

- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
- Attend industry events to build and strengthen relationships within the travel and tourism sectors.

Requirements:

- 3-5 years in buyer recruitment, event management, customer service, or a related role within the travel, tourism, or event industry.
- Experience in managing buyer programs, including logistics and client engagement.
- Strong background in managing inquiries and providing proactive solutions.
- Experience in managing budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
- Experience in building and maintaining databases and conducting targeted research.
- Familiarity with event registration and management software.
- Established connections within the travel, tourism, or creative industries.

Qualifications:

- Certification in event management, business administration, marketing, hospitality, or a related field. Project management certification is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/event management software.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages (especially French or Portuguese) are advantageous.
