Construction Management** - Effectively manage project planning, as well as related costs and budgets. - Ensure proper SHEQ Management for the site. - Ensure that construction and pre-commissioning activities are carried out safely in accordance with the design, drawings and quality plan for the project. - Manage and drive construction schedules, construction method statements, resourcing, material and equipment procurement, construction plant and equipment. - Set up and manage site establishment including, accommodation, transportation for both on and off site, site offices and furniture, ablutions, local suppliers, etc within the confines of the control budget. - Ensure that the Site Quality Management Plan is implemented and maintained. - Coordinate and manage daily, weekly and monthly contractual/project actions/activities according to company standards. - Continuously analyse project performance for adherence to quality standards, cost and schedule. - Attend client meetings and report back to company management - Prepare and ensure daily reporting to relevant parties in a timely and professional manner. - Accountable for construction management man-hours and other site expenses against the control budget. - Ensure the completed project meets the requirements of the client, the design, statutory authorities and specific project requirements. - Prepare construction close out report. - Coordinate demobilisation of Project staff including the sale or removal of materials and or equipment surplus in accordance with a pre - agreed procedure. **2. External parties / Client & contractors** - Manage client meetings with professionalism and proactivity - Effectively manage all employees, suppliers, and sub-contractors - Monitor compliance with cost, schedule, quality, environmental and safety objectives and ensure corrective action is taken when non - conformances are detected. - Assist internal QC, HSE, HR, Finance and operations departments with related activities. **3. People Management** - Effectively manage all staff related matters for the site in conjunction with Human Resources (recruitment, onboarding, contract management & staff forecasting, performance management, disciplinary management, training, etc). - Anticipate potential disputes and work stoppages and direct corrective action in terms of the relevant agreements, contracts, regulations and/or Acts. - Establish a culture on site where there is full communication between staff, site management and senior management. **REQUIREMENTS**: - Qualification in an engineering discipline or Project/Construction management. - Registered as a Professional Construction Manager with SACPCMP. - At least 10 years’ experience in Petrochemical or Oil & Gas industry. - At least 5 years’ experience as a Construction Manager. - Flexible to travel according to project location(s). Knowledge & Experience - Extensive knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Management principles, practices and statutory requirements. - Specific understanding of OHSA and ISO 9001 and 45001. - Experience in NEC, GCC, FIDIC contracts advantageous. - Proficient in using Ms Project. - Strong computer skills. - Sound commercial skills and thorough understanding of the various forms of contract, commercial terms and conditions. - Practical multi-disciplinary engineering and/or construction knowledge. - Thorough knowledge of and hands on experience with, the development, resourcing and monitoring of schedules. - Financial management, cost control, procurement and forecasting experience. - Good understanding of labour related management practices. - Experience in managing Human Resource and people-related matters. - Team recruitment and management. - Time management skills - ability to effectively manage various elements of a project within tight time-frames.
