Our client provides a wide range of products and services to the steel industry in South Africa from their modern and comprehensive steel service centres and specialty steel divisions. They are looking to appoint an Operations Manager to plan, direct, co-ordinate and execute the operations at the branch in full.

**Position details**:
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Primary purpose: Plan, direct, co-ordinate and execute the operations at the branch in full. Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the formulation of policies, managing daily operations, and the planning and use of materials and human resources to its fullest potential. Function independently and lead the team through an Entrepreneurial Leadership style, growing the business to its full potential.

Key Performance Areas (Duties & Responsibilities):
Develop and implement a strategic plan for the branch.

Develop and implement an annual business plan in line with company objectives and goals.

Compliance with Statutory Regulations and Company Policies and Procedures.

Implementation and monitoring of the Company SHE and TQM compliance systems.

Financial management.

Human resources management.

Material and supply chain management.

Operational management.

Manage BBBEE scorecard / pillars at plant level.

**Job Qualification & Experience**:
Academic qualifications:
B-Eng degree or similar

**Experience**:
10 years at managerial level within the industry essential

Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Able to always expedite and update the customer.

Must be self-disciplined and target driven.

Transformational leadership.

High technical communication/negotiation ability.

Good reporting abilities both verbal and written.
