To take responsibility for managing significant components of the day-to-day trade execution operations and maintain service level agreements with various stakeholders
- Gain a clear understanding of system flows, architecture, and markets to identify and resolve process breakdowns, exceptions and trouble shooting
- Resolve all exceptions and queries, escalating to relevant stakeholder(s) when necessary and in line with applicable escalation policies.
- Identify and manage operational risk
- Ensure the team is kept abreast of any changes in the market and regulations
- Report any operational risk, breakdowns, and penalties to divisional operations risk management
- Understand the Securities Lending and/or Clearing environment and its impact on the market
- Provide input into the development of the tactical strategy, and develop and implement a supporting operational strategy
- Allocate resources and plan rotations to support a stable and effective operational environment across dual sites
- Monitor and update operational procedures and risk controls and meet internal and external audit requirements
- Manage the operationalisation of new products and services or technology upgrades to improve client service ensuring positive outcomes for Operations
- Manage external user test environments including system maintenance, resolving technical issues, system accreditations, and user acceptance testing for upgrades
- Implement and monitor internal controls regarding the expenditure budget
- Create and implement innovative methods in banking administration aspects.
- Identify possible risk and delivery impact to value realisation, project timing and resourcing from a system, people, process, and financial point of view to inform planning, expectation setting and mitigation
- Estimate effort and time frames for delivery of prioritised backlog across initiatives and production to inform value assessments, business cases and sprint / project / release planning
- Understand competencies and skills required for own and employee's development and performance
- Identify development needs and select effective solutions to address own and employee development needs
- Ensure that each employee prepares a personal development plan that is implemented and reviewed as required
- Provide on the job coaching and guidance
