Programme Coordinator

Duties/Pligte
This position entails the coordination of a comprehensive institutional HIV-and-sexualities strategy for Stellenbosch University that aims to realise an inclusive, value-driven campus with an enabling environment, free from unfair discrimination, harassment and victimization, as well as the prevention and support services needed for student and staff success to be promoted. To reach this mission, the main activities and performance indicators include training, facilitation and mentoring, student and organisation liaison, networking with staff and students at main and satellite campuses regarding issues of HIV, Aids, gender, sexuality, MSM, LGBTQIA+, social justice and other current narratives, coordinating HST campaigns, condom and lube distribution and facilitating dialogues and social discussion groups. This post is also instrumental in implementing the Higher Health initiatives and grant expectations.
- Representing and actively contributing to relevant forums (including student forums and organisations) and/or networks within SU and the HE sector;
- Networking with and building strategic alliances and relationships with key stakeholders (student sand staff) within SU;
- Advocating for inclusion of social justice, HIV, gender, sexualities, LGBTQIA+ and MSM at SU and the HE sector;
- Creating and maintaining collaboration with students, student organisations and movements within SU;
- Developing and facilitating training and mentoring of student leaders /peer educators;
- Developing and facilitating in-curriculum lectures, short courses, workshops and training for students and staff (in-person, online / on social media);
- Availability for training, presentations and attending student meetings and initiatives outside usual office hours (during the evenings and over weekends) as needed;
- Coordinating and supervising support for HST at office and FTF and other HIV testing campaigns;
- Condom and lube distribution coordination;
Monitoring and evaluation, record-keeping and reporting.

Hierdie pos behels die koördinering van 'n omvattende institusionele MIV- en
- seksualiteits strategie vir die Universiteit Stellenbosch wat poog om 'n inklusiewe, waardegedrewe kampus met 'n instaatstellende omgewing, vry van enige onregverdige diskriminasie, teistering en viktimisering daar te stel. Asook die bied van voorkomende en ondersteuningsdienste wat studente sukses bevorder. Om hierdie missie te bereik sluit die pos se hoof aktiwiteite en KPA's opleiding, fasilitering en mentorskap, om die studente en organisasie se skakelpersoon te wees, en die bou van netwerke met personeel en studente op beide Stellenbosch en satelliet kampusse rakende die temas van MIV, gender, seksualiteit, MSM, LGBTQIA+, sosiale geregtigheid, sowel as ander huidige narratiewe in. Die posbekleër se pligte sal ook insluit koördinering van MIV-toetsing, kondoom en smeermiddelverspreiding en die fasilitering van gespreksgroepe en psigo-sosiale ondersteuningsgroepe. Verder speel die pos ook 'n belangrike rol in die implementering van die Higher Health inisiatiewe en gepaartgaande befondsingsuitsette.
- Verteenwoordig en neem aktief deel aan toepaslike forums (insluitende studente forums and organisasies) en/of netwerke binne die US en die HO sektor;
- Netwerk met en bou strategiese vennootskappe en verhoudings met belangrike rolspelers (beide studente en personeel) binne die US;
- Bevorder insluiting van sosiale geregtigheid, MIV, gender, seksualiteit, LGBTQIA+ en MSM op die US en die HO sektor;
- Vestig en instandhouding van vennootskappe en verhoudings met studente, studenteorganisasies en bewegings binne die US;
- Ontwikkel en aanbieding van opleiding en mentorskap van studenteleiers/portuuropleiers;ators;
- Ontwikkel en fasilitering van binne-kurrikulum lesings, kort kursusse, werkswinkels, en opleiding van studente en personeel (beide in-persoon en aanlyn/ op sosiale media);
- Beskikbaarheid vir opleiding, aanbiedings en studente vergaderings en inisiatiewe buite gewone kantoor werksure (saans en naweke) soos benodig;
- Koördinering en toesighouding oor die MIV instaptoetsdiens binne die kantoor, sowel as FTF en ander toetsveldtogte;
- Koördinering van kondoom en smeermiddel (lube) verspreiding;
- Beheer van materiaal, insluitende voorraadopnames, bestelling en berging van toetsmateriaal, kondome, ens.,
- Monitering en evaluering, rekordhouding en rapportering.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. education, psychology, political science, social work, etc.);
- A minimum of two years' relevant work experience (including experience in HCT and training/facilitation);
- Thorough knowledge of HIV, gender and sexualities as well as social justice;
- Thorough knowledge and experience in HIV testing and counselling;
- Knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E);
- Fluency in two official South African languages (including English);
- Excellent facilitation and training skills
