Design, develop and refine TFR’s Strategic & Business Planning Processes 2. Direct the Enterprise strategy development, strategic planning & strategy execution oversight, and specifically directing: - Rolling Stock Acquisition & Life-cycle Strategies (i.e. acquisition strategy development, and oversight, Business Case development); Fleet Stragey Development (7-20 years) - Corporate Planning & Shareholder Compact Management, and - Corporate Plan Reporting (Performance KPI and detailed Shareholder compact reports, Updates on all Corporate Plan initiatives) 3. Establish an in-depth understanding of the competitive logistics market landscape, expansion opportunities and industry developments through detailed environmental scanning and market analysis 4. Provide strategic guidance and direction in the formulation of TFR’s overall business strategy 5. Develop strategic options based on analyses of the macro-economic environment and industry landscape to ensure the sustainability of the business over the medium and long term; leader to top management in this regard 7. Engage with the Transnet Group Strategy, and Business Development, and other Operating Divisions regarding strategy direction and ensure alignment of TFR’s strategic positioning with the Transnet mandate and expectations. 8. Lead discussions and analysis of current and future strategic options to ensure that the growth and sustainability objectives of the business are met 9. Develops business plan setting targets for the year (1-7 year view) 10. Develop and ensure periodic updates of TFR’s Strategic Plan (5-10 year time horizon) and of the annual Business Plan (1-7 year time horizon): a. Interpret and align Stakeholder and Shareholder requirements and objectives b. Determine the nature of analysis required c. Translate the impact of relevant policy and national objectives into strategic business requirements and make recommendations for the appropriate action to be taken d. Manage the compilation and approval of the Strategic and Business Plans in accordance with stakeholder requirements 2. Interpret scenarios and strategic issues in the broad business environment and indicate their potential impact on the strategies and plans of the businesses 4.Lead, manage and mentor staff within the Strategy & Business Planning function 5.Provide inspirational leadership by developing a nurturing high performance culture **_ Qualifications & Experience:_** - B Degree in Finance, Commerce or Operations - Post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage. - Minimum of 10 years’ experience which at least 5 years at a senior managerial level in Strategy development area within a large operations environment. - Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19. - Must undergo Lifestyle Audit.
