As a Facilities Officer you’ll be responsible for maintaining the building to a safe standard by ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed, standards are met, legislation complied with, hazards identified and remedied in a timely manner.
In addition, you will be required to carry out the proactive maintenance of all departmental services including but not limited to air-conditioning, smoke detection, security detection, boilers, CCTV, access control, office interior, office exterior, carpeting, furniture fabric and furnishings.
You’ll also engage with approved contractors to ensure that contracted services including but not limited to of security, maintenance, mail, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling across the Helix premises are delivered in line with service level agreements.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need demonstrable knowledge and skills in building maintenance and dealing with maintenance issues, experience with procurement policies and procedures, excellent communication skills, sound working knowledge of MS Office and be available after hours should the need arise.
**What you’ll be doing**:
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with pallet truck keeping the warehouse management system up to date, so that stock can be located quickly
- Organise deliveries by packing stock into boxes and crates, and ensuring orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent returned orders
- Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse will be part of the daily routine
- Reporting any accidents and providing responses and resolutions to Facilities requests within agreed service levels
- Ensuring essential services are continually maintained by carrying out the full range of practical and manual handling aspects
- Liaising with management, end-user departments and Project Managers to plan layout changes or alterations to campaign requirements
- Developing relationships with end-user departments and other support departments
- Taking responsibility and accountability for information security in line with the company’s security policy
- Ensuring appropriate personal protective equipment is used by the Facilities Team and contractors
- Ensuring all chemicals and hazardous substances are controlled and used according to legal requirements and local legislation
**What you’ll need**:
- Trade qualification
- Experience in relevant field
- Specialist knowledge of a manual trade e.g. carpentry / electrical skills
- Previous exposure to performance management of suppliers via Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and/ or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Clear credit, disciplinary and criminal records
