**Job Description**:
Derivco South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated **Head of Estates and Facilities** to be part of our dynamic team.
As the Head of Estates and Facilities at Derivco, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and management of all estates and facilities utilized by our company. You will provide invaluable expertise in building and resource management to support our organization's growth and success. Collaborating closely with senior internal stakeholders and external partners, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to our facilities team, ensuring the highest standards of resource quality, compliance, leadership, and commercial awareness across all owned and leased estates. Your role will involve offering expert advice on land, property, estates, and facilities matters to our Executive Leadership Team, guiding us toward both short-term and long-term success.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Strategic and Functional Leadership:
- Lead the Facilities Team, including the Estate Manager, Facilities Maintenance Manager, Facilities Project Manager, Department Coordinator, and Administrator.
- Maintain high-quality estate and facilities services, aligned with policies and procedures.
- Foster relationships with internal and external maintenance and service teams.
- Chair the building planning committee.
- Ensure team members are trained in facilities policies, procedures, and systems.
- Manage staff performance and facilitate improvement through regular monitoring and feedback.
- Encourage teamwork and performance excellence.
- Develop functional strategies and objectives, create budgets, policies, and procedures.
- Manage department performance and facilitate employee development.
- Oversee contractor relationships and engagements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide consistent facilities experiences.
Operational Leadership:
- Implement and maintain company Health and Safety standards.
- Collaborate with IT and Infrastructure departments.
- Devise and manage departmental budgets.
- Drive cost optimization and efficiencies.
- Engage with the Compliance department.
- Liaise with procurement for strategic purchasing.
- Optimize company parking.
- Manage and ensure service delivery of the Outsourced Security Contract.
- Problem-solve and implement upgrades as needed.
- Ensure a healthy, safe, and secure building and facilities.
- Conduct property inspections and maintain compliance.
- Establish Property Management Plan and Preventative Maintenance Policies.
- Coordinate maintenance and installations.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Implement effective space management.
Skills & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or Property Management.
- 8-10 years of senior facilities management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of relevant local laws and regulations.
- Multitasking ability.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
