**Purpose of the role**
- Provide first-line support to the Accountant
- Responsible for assisting with the accounting of the entity as well as the financial management and the implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Provide assistance with the general management of the administrative and daily functioning of the office
- Assist proactively with cost containment and profit improvement opportunities and safeguard the interest of the company

**Requirements**:

- Matric
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance
- 1-2 years of experience within a Finance environment, preferably dealing with invoicing and auditing
- Payroll knowledge advantageous

**Duties**

To assist with:

- Maintaining proper and complete accounting records of the entity
- Administration of finance and payroll
- Preparation of the accounting working papers and reports for the drawing up of the Annual Financial Statements
- Compilation of cash flow forecasts for the business
- Evaluation and minimization of costs
- Ensuring there are proper controls and procedures in place for purchasing, receiving and requisitioning
- Ensuring all revenue due to the entity is properly accounted for and reconciled
- Reconciling suppliers' accounts to the entity's records
- Reconciling General Ledger Accounts
- Administration of the VIP Payroll system
- Ensure payments and returns for VAT and Company Taxes are made accurately and on a timely basis
