**Overview**: We are seeking dedicated Food Service Assistants to join our team at an upmarket retirement village in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive and vibrant community while gaining valuable experience in the hospitality industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the kitchen team in preparing and cooking meals according to set recipes and dietary requirements.
- Ensure that kitchen and dining areas are kept clean, sanitized, and organized at all times in adherence to food safety standards.
- Serve meals to residents with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of orders.
- Provide friendly and attentive service to residents, addressing any inquiries or concerns in a timely and respectful manner.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to cater for special events and functions held within the retirement village.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels of food and supplies, notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in meal preparation and service.
- A customer-centric mindset with a passion for providing exceptional service to residents.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the retirement village.
- : Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights, as required in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, adhering to the dress code and grooming standards of the retirement village.
