Responsible for the effective management of diverse legal teams across various jurisdictions
- Setting legal strategy and direction alignment to organisational imperatives
- Accountable for the operational management of the full suite of legal services across the AECI Group.
- Strengthen collaboration with external legal advisors, local and cross border
- Maintain relationships with all internal stakeholders
- Responsible for reporting and implementation of Legal standards
- Reporting of legal and ethical breaches
- Conduct research and develop legal frameworks, analyse local and international trends that could impact the business.
- Conduct assessment on labour legislation compliance, locally and cross-border
- Conduct business improvement initiatives on ethics and corporate governance
- Build a strong and cohesive team by recruiting top talent and creating an inclusive work environment
- Promote a culture that supports high performance through performance management and employee engagement
- Mentoring, coaching and developing of the Legal team

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Degree: LLB/LLM
- MBA will be advantageous
- Admitted Attorney/Advocate
- 10-15 years’ work experience in same or similar role
- 10 years’ experience in managing legal teams in listed company environment
- Substantial experience in corporate commercial & M&A matters
- Knowledge of applicable legislation including corporate law, competition law, contract law, dispute resolution, environmental law, mining law, labour law, etc.
- Solid regulatory compliance experience in multinational companies
- Proven track record in establishing formal legal policies, procedures and internal controls
- Strong legal risk management background
- Demonstrable legal project management experience
- Leadership and management of lawyers and non-lawyers
