The Employer is a manufacturer of superior wood products, providing a comprehensive bulk service to select customers across South Africa as well as into the Sub Continent. Customers include shop fitting companies, kitchen manufacturers, domestic and office furniture producers, board merchants and retail stores, coffin and casket.

**The Role**:
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall development, performance and maintenance of the factory’s activities to obtain the maximum efficiency, production, quality, service and profitability for the Company.

We are searching for a factory or retail manager, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role to oversee the full function of the Branch including management of staff, sales, production, equipment, safety, finances and operations.

The Branch Manager will be based in Wynberg and report to the Executive Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Stock control
- Forecasting
- Ordering
- Supplier liaison
- Key customer liaison
- Floor display
- Setting and meeting budgets
- Manage the factory ensuring high quality business activities with maximum efficiency, production, service and profitability
- Meet your targets and those of the team as a whole
- The efficient running of the team
- Training and development of the team
- Achieving maximum customer satisfaction
- Manage, direct and monitor the overall performance of the factory
- Maintain and improve mechanisms for factory production and activities, including surveying and measuring the operations, processes, outcomes and profitability
- Utilise appropriate systems to manage factory production, functions, analysis and documentation
- Direct the development of plans for the factory and production to achieve targets
- Developing plans for the factory’s progress, production improvement and general growth
- Report business activity to executive management on a daily/weekly basis or as otherwise required
- Developing plans for team activities to include strategy to achieve targets
- Assist in the development and preparation of the strategy and general business planning of both the factory and the organisation as a whole
- Delegate authority and responsibility to team with supervision, accountability and review
- Set an example for team members of commitment, leadership, work ethics and habits and personal character
- Maintain accurate records
- Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls
- Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
- Interact and co-operate with all members of the organisation, its suppliers and customers

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Matric
- Business Management or relevant qualification
- 5 years’ management experience in the hardware / DIY sector (essential)
- Experience in the wood sector, advantageous
- Experience in the retail or production sector, advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence

**Salary & working hours**:
R 18000 negotiable, based on experience

3-month probation before permanent appointment

**Branch Operating Hours**:
Monday - Friday: 7h30 - 4h30

Saturday & Public Holidays: 8h00 - 14h00

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R18,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
