We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Support Technician for our client's IT Department. The position will be based in Midrand. The main objective of the role is to provide Tier 2 support for incidents logged on the service desk, as well as installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networking and associated infrastructure components.

**Responsibilities**:

- Performing installations, configurations, upgrades, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of networking and associated infrastructure components in support of operational systems and development environments.
- Monitoring and responding to system alarms and events, managing system resources such as capacity, reconciliation of violation reports and loggings generated by automated policing mechanisms based on established procedures.
- Administration of system health (system admin and DBA) by interacting with other specialist areas.
- Creating knowledge base/SOP documents and providing them to the support team to close calls.
- Investigate and diagnose technical issues with systems and perform necessary fixes within scope.
- Ensuring uptime and availability requirements are met and systems are adequately documented.
- Providing a 24/7 response service for system outages.
- Developing business recovery plans and adhering to version control policies.

**Requirements**:

- Matric;
- National Certificate (IT) or BSC (IT) or Industry specific diploma;
- At least 4-5 years of relevant experience;
- ITIL Foundation certification;
- IT certifications in infrastructure disciplines;
- Understanding of Kanban flow system and LEAN performance management;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments under pressure;
- Strong customer service focus.
