A scheduler ensures all bookings are loaded on MIS or other systems and schedules by optimizing routes and allocating drivers and vehicles to trips. The scheduler is responsible for collaborating with fleet, brand ambassadors & bookings agents to ensure all trips and changes are captured and optimized.

1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

A scheduler must plan and schedule the company transportation to ensure organizational objectives are met as instructed by management. Required to monitor MIS and assist the team leader and hub in managing the detailed transport activities, and proactively address scenarios in which there is a delay, changes, additional trips, breakdowns, or shortage of busses.

2. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1. Allocate all trips booked to a vehicle and driver

a. Ensure all exceptions and customs on the system are managed

b. Routes are optimized continuously as bookings change or get added

c. Ensure devices matching vehicles are populated with the necessary work

d. Ensure scheduling efficiencies and proactively raise and address methods on continuous improvements

2.2. Focus on route planning to ensure efficiency

2.3. Monitor MIS system and report all system errors as well as make corrections

2.4. Manage MIS to ensure data accuracy

2.5. Monitor device issues and ensure proper device maintenance records

2.6. Assist in monitoring all trips to ensure on time

2.7. Act where necessary to improve customer experience and support drivers in doing so

2.8. Ensure all trips are recorded to be invoiced

2.9. Liaise with drivers, sub-contractors, and hub on operational matters, routes, and requests

2.10. Allocate vehicles using fleetio or a similar system

2.11. Keep the Team Leader informed of the state of operations

2.12. Keep excellent records of operations activity and monitor the fair distribution of work

2.13. Report any instance of adverse customer service

2.14. Any other task the company may reasonably ask you to undertake

2.15. Checking that trips are correctly completed on MIS

2.16. Identify operational training needs

2.17. Support drivers and team in the event of an accident to comply with company procedures

3.6. Organised and follow up on missing data and reporting of staff that delay this process through incomplete trip changes & submission Monitoring and managing several different bus services simultaneously

3.7. Knowing when to intervene to optimise customer experience

3.8. Managing calmly under pressure

3.9. Planning skills

3.13. Work independently and demonstrate self-discipline in execution

3.14. Ensuring the operation is managed effectively and changes to routes or diversions are clearly communicated

3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (What is required to perform the Essential Duties?)

3.1. 4 Years Previous experience relevant to the post

3.2. Professionalism, planning, and control under pressure

3.3. Intermediate computer skills in word, excel, outlook, MIS, and other systems

3.4. Matric

3.5. Logistics experience

3.6. Routing experience

3.7. Knowledge of Cape Town and its surrounds

3.8. Logistics certification is benefitial

**Salary**: R10 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Parow, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Scheduling: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
