Operations Manager: Sanlam Facilities and Real

Sanlam Life and Savings consists of three clusters - Sanlam Corporate, Sanlam Retail Mass and Sanlam Retail Affluent. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the three clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives. What will you do?
Directs, controls and co-ordinates all activities related to operations of Corporate Facilities to ensure that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Contributes to the development of the company’s corporate facilities strategy and lead strategy development in the areas of production, purchasing and distribution to ensure the achievement of short and long-term objectives. What will make you successful in this role?

Direct and control the operations to ensuring that the required services are provided to clients within agreed costs and timeframe
Direct and control the operations functions to ensure that Corporate Facilities has all the resources required for operational purposes within the agreed costs and quality standards and at the right times
Maintain effective working relationships with all clients to ensure that there is effective coordination of all Corporate Facilities activities in support of the broader company objectives
Act as the Corporate Facilities advisor on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.
Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained at all sites.
Develop, implement and maintain all necessary policies and procedures to ensure:
Production, purchasing and distribution functions achieve the business objectives.
Control of the Operations Department budget to ensure that the department has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
Responsible for moveable assets insurance
Direct operations to ensure that customers are supplied with the right goods and services at the right times.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher
At least 8 years’ experience in operations management
Possess project and people management skills
Significant experience within the FM industry
Knowledge and Skills
Sound knowledge of the Facilities Management processes
Project management experience
