**Job Purpose**:
Bidvest International Logistics is looking to hear from all Customs Entry Clerk / Customs Brokers seeking new opportunities. This position will be based at our facility in Kempton Park - Johannesburg.

Entry Clerks will be responsible to draft customs bills of entry in accordance with all relevant legislation, internal and external policies and procedures. Contributes to client satisfaction and legal compliance by successful release of cargo in accordance with Customs and other governmental requirements.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Matric / Grade 12 essential
- Customs Affairs Course or equivalent (Customs Tariff Classification and associated General rules of interpretation, methods of valuation (GATT) and rules of origin)
- 5 years experience in a Customs Entry framing / drafting role
- Incoterms knowledge at an Advanced level

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare draft Bill of Entry on the Cargowise system
- Receive clearing files/instructions from Business Units/Client
- Verify overall accuracy on of the draft bill of entry produced
- Batch import files in preparation for EDI upload
- Facilitate release of Customs Stop/Detain including other third party release
- Liaise with relevant parties to obtain final release
- Communication regarding the clearing instruction and the status of consignments
- Communicate with Department of Customs and Excise, other Governmental departments and clients.
- Attend to daily correspondence / administration where necessary
