**Specific Role Responsibilities**: **The responsibilities of a Workshop Quality Controller include the following tasks**: - To assist management in implementing and maintaining effective processes to achieve the highest possible VOC levels in excess of the manufacturers national average - To deliver Gross Profit in line with the Business Plan by maximising the number of hours sold, driving revenue per transaction and motivating product sales - Workshop Loading - To distribute and control the issuing of work to the Technicians to maximise quality and overall efficiency - To lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve their daily objectives - To ensure the accurate completion of all relevant documentation for each repair - Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support the team to reach common goals - To ensure a strong relationship is maintained with the Parts department in order to maximise parts availability - To ensure that a safe working environment is maintained in line with the OHS Act - Ensure that the manufacturers warranty standards are adhered to at all times - Focuses on customers needs and satisfaction to consistently deliver results and meet customer expectations - Monitor and maintain quality and productivity - Work in a systematic, methodical and orderly manner - Consistently achieves project goals - Maintains a positive outlook at work - Handles criticism well and learns from it by balancing the demands of a work life and a personal life - Takes responsibility for actions, projects, and people and uses initiative, working under own direction - Initiates and generates activity and introduces changes to work processes - Makes quick, clear decisions which may include tough choices or considered risks - Develop an understanding of different organisational departments and functions - Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional - Welcome all customers according to company standards and thank customers with genuine appreciation - Speak with others using clear and professional language and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette - Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets - Follow all company policies and procedures - Carry out all reasonable instructions and duties given to you by any member of Senior Management, from time to time, such as collecting and dropping off customers. - ** Once work is done**: - Check the correspondence between the work requested and the work carried out. - Check the quality of work carried out from the Customers point of view. - Test the vehicle (if necessary). - Fill in the Control Certificate and report on the work to the Service Manager should there be any: - Concerns/risks. - Decide to redo the work if necessary, in agreement with the Service Manager. - In the case of a quality error analyse the cause and update the dealership quality report ("touch-ups"). - Check the quality of execution of the "touching-up". - Prepare the vehicle for hand-over. - ** When a return takes place**: - Complete the return sheet, analyse the cause, and update the chart for Return Follow-Ups. - Check the quality of execution of work linked with the return. - Test the vehicle. - Report to the Service Manager - ** Maintenance and management**: - File, update, and circulate after-sales documentation. - Keep the equipment entrusted to him in good working order - ** Responsibilities**: - Respecting the promise made to the Customer, - Controlling the quality of execution on all requested work, - The quality of wording in documents (certificate of control, touching up sheet, return sheet), - Making sure of cleanliness, and that safety orders are respected, - The tooling, machines, and equipment that he uses, - Application of rules, processes, charters, and standards relating to him, - Quality of functional relations within the scope of his activities. - In all circumstances, the Quality Controller acts with constant concern for quality, stringency, - Economic efficiency and respect for the promise made to the customer according to the Professional code of ethics which was given to him and which he has studied. **Qualifications and Experience**: Minimum Qualifications and Experience needed: - N3 or Technical Matric - Valid Drivers license - Computer literate **Skills**: - Have sound communication skills in English and the language commonly spoken in the area (speak & write). - Professional and technical expertise in vehicle service and repair maintenance. - Problem-solving and motor vehicle fault-finding skills. - Planning and organising - Delivering results and meeting customer expectations. - Following instructions and processes; appropriately following instructions from others without unnecessarily challenging authority; keeping to schedules; arriving punctually for work and meetings; demonstrating a commitment to the organization; complying with legal and technical obligations
