We have an exciting **job** opportunity for a **Functional Planner** to join an internationally leading company in the field of Health Care at their offices in **Cape Town**. You will design responsibility for all design trades and design activities in the pre-project phase. Your key **job** responsibilities as the **Functional Planner** in **Cape Town** will include:

- Lead and coordinate all design and engineering related matters during the pre-project phase under the authority of the Managing Directors
- Work in strong collaboration with the Clinical Healthcare Planner, the Business Development Team, Managing Directors, and relevant internal and external stakeholders as delegated by the Managing Directors
- Leading and coordinating the design development team(s), coordination of tasks and responsibilities of all engineers in pre-projects
- Preparation of duties for the engineering staff in consideration of quantity, cost, quality, deadlines as well as personnel skills
- Planning of resources and staff requirements in coordination with the Managing Directors
- Sales support and participating in client meetings, if and when required
- Analysis of client needs / benefits
- Responsible for processing all technical requests in relation to life-cycle projects in the respective region
- Composition of the design development team in coordination with the Managing Directors
- Support in the development of the medical task/medical service plan
- Development of functional/ building concept(s) in the pre-project phase of life-cycle projects in cooperation with other key stakeholders

Requirements for this **Functional Planner job** in **Cape Town**:

- Diploma or University degree in Engineering, or Masters’ Degree in a healthcare related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in healthcare facility planning
- Good understanding of healthcare facility operations and related processes
- In-depth knowledge of international building standards
- Knowledge of local healthcare facility related regulations and bylaws, inclusive licensing requirements
- Keeping up-to date with innovation technology and environmental friendly building techniques
- Good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent in English, knowledge of German or Arabic is a plus
