Job Description
Would you like to play a significant, influential role in CHEP SSA's future, by being an integral part of its executive leadership, leading the strategic planning processes and through the delivery of multiple programs that have a business wide transformational impact? We are currently recruiting for a Director: Strategy & Marketing SSA based in either Sandton, Johannesburg or Westville, Durban.
This role forms part of the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Country Leadership team. The role’s purpose is to plan for and drive a greater pace of transformational change and deliver on incrementally better outcomes for our business, customers and stakeholders against mandated timelines. The scope for transformation is both within the core business and in the delivery of a value adding range of digital products and services.
The purpose of this role will be to ensure the efficacy, efficiency and excellence of the strategic ambition, direction, and delivery for CHEP SSA. The role is responsible for;
- The operation and continuous improvement process of ideation planning, engagement, scoping, testing, monitoring and measuring which is needed to create and execute an overarching strategic framework
- The strategic framework will entail detailed cross-functional objectives & the delivery & measurement of associated initiatives
- Leveraging market and customer insights that align and deliver to the Group, Region and Country’s strategic goals.
- Driving a 4-year plan, goals and targets for Employees, Customers and Shareholders
- Lead the SSA digital development team in collaboration with Brambles Digital, to continue to test and bring new products and value enhancing service capability to market.
- Lead the development and execution of Marketing campaigns & initiatives aimed at ensuring customer retention and actively supporting SSA’s growth ambitions.
- The role will assume responsibility of all project management activities, leading a program of transformational work for the SSA Business.
- Leading a team of both direct and indirect reports and creating a motivating environment that retains, attracts, and encourages high performance and engagement with the team.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Undergraduate Degree (Post graduate degree/MBA would be an added advantage)
- 5+ years of senior management (director / executive desirable) experience and the leading and management of senior employees and diverse teams
- Understanding and acceptance of the fiduciary responsibility associated with directorship as it relates to the local SA regulatory environment;
- Track record of leading complex projects, both strategic and business change management within a matrix multi-national organization
- Customer relationship management, and exposure to B2C & B2B brand building / strengthening, solution marketing & selling;
- Understanding of the SSA supply chain including cross-border markets, FMCG, retail, agriculture and automotive with experience in equipment pooling solutions been highly desirable;
- Proven advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, financial understanding with the ability to influence and drive profitable business solutions;
