Construction Execution Manager

The Construction Execution Manager will oversee and support the Construction and Site Managers across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to best practices. This role will establish and refine construction management processes, procedures, and protocols while acting as a technical advisor and stakeholder liaison. While the position is mostly office based, it requires hands-on construction experience and leadership of on-site teams.

**Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA)**:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Construction and Site Management team.
- Establish a cohesive team structure that fosters knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment of site operations with company objectives and industry best practices.
**Ownership of Construction & Site Management Processes, Procedures, and Protocols**:
- Develop and implement standard procedures for construction execution and contractor management.
- Develop templates, protocols, and guidelines to ensure consistency in construction practices across projects.
- Provide guidance on project execution methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.
**SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality)**:
- Enforce compliance with SHEQ standards and regulations across all construction sites.
- Drive a culture of safety and quality assurance within the site teams.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safe working conditions.
**Technical Advisory on Installation Plans**:
- Act as the go-to expert for technical queries related to construction and site execution.
- Provide insights on civil, mechanical, and electrical installation methodologies.
- Support site teams in planning construction and problem-solving issues experienced.
**Site Stakeholder Management**:
- Serve as the main liaison between site teams and senior management.
- Engage with project managers to ensure smooth execution and sufficient on-site support.
- Liaise with contractors, and other external stakeholders to resolve installation issues and conflicts efficiently.
**PERSON DESCRIPTION**
**Experience**:
- Eight years' experience as a Construction Manager, with expertise in electrical, civil (infrastructure) and mechanical installations.
- Experience as on-site contractor management on large projects (project value above R50m).
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring site teams.
- Extensive knowledge of construction site processes, SHEQ regulations, and quality standards.
- Ability to develop and refine standard operating procedures for construction management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.
- Previous exposure to large-scale renewable energy projects is beneficial.
**Specific attributes**:
- Qualification: National Diploma or higher in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical
- Proficient in MS Word.
- Willingness to travel to sites occasionally, although the role is primarily office-based.
- Valid driver's license.

**What Does Success Look Like?**
**By month 3**:
- I will be familiar with the current site management processes.
- I will have assisted the technical teams in preparing and planning construction of future sites.
- I will know the site management team’s capabilities.
**By month 6**:
- I have established and documented improved detail site management processes.
- I have established consistent and detailed quality assurance inspections, with standard documentation templates.
- I have provided regular hands-on training to the site managers and have mapped out future formal training requirements (if any).
**By month 12**:
- I have established a team that execute site installations to a standardised process and to a consistent level of quality.
- I have developed the team’s understanding and adherence to SHEQ standards and regulations.
- I have executed all other related duties as required, contributing to the department’s ongoing success.
