Payroll Manager

Red Ember Recruitment is urgently looking for a seasoned Sage 300 People Payroll Manager, for one of our clients based in Edenvale.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monthly payroll review
2. Review payroll reports and payment summaries prior to release:
1. Summary of payroll changes
2. Overtime payments
3. Net pay calculation
4. Medical and group life summaries
5. Summary of tax and other regulatory payments
6. EMP201 and EMP501
7. Overtime schedules
4. Ensure all fringe benefits taxes are correctly calculated and disclosed.
5. Prepare cost to company reconciliation, net pay variance analysis, headcount movement analysis, payroll registers, remuneration lists, and banking payment files.
6. Ensure all employees are paid on due date.
7. Check employee banking details against prior month payroll.
8. Sign off on SARS verifications.
9. Payroll reconciliations:
1. Review and approve monthly reconciliations
2. Salary creditors to general ledger
3. Salary control account
4. IRP5 reconciliation
5. Employee loans to general ledger
11. Balance sheet reconciliations for statutory obligations.
12. Review and prepare audit schedules.
13. SARS submission on E-filing and Easy-file.
14. WCA / COIDA / Return of earnings submission.
15. Review payment uploads to ensure validity and correctness.
16. Ensure timely completion and review of monthly payroll reports.
17. Assist with salary structuring in line with HR remuneration policy.
18. Policy management for all payroll related policies.
19. Liaise with stakeholders regarding staff advances and expense claims.
20. Prepare and present payroll information at new starter inductions.
21. Data analysis with industry trends.
22. Job evaluation, job grade, and salary benchmarking.
23. Ensure SAGE 300/Eco Time operates effectively.
24. Investigate solutions to improve operational efficiencies.
25. Manage and mentor the payroll team.
Requirements
Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), this role is responsible for ensuring the complete running of all payroll administration, including the accurate capturing of payroll related data and reconciliation of payments. The candidate should be highly numerate, well organized, deadline driven, and possess the ability to lead a team. Attention to detail, advanced knowledge of Sage 300, and Excel proficiency are non-negotiable.
