POSITION OVERVIEW

The Hospitality Cashier is responsible for managing all payment transactions in alignment with financial protocols and guidelines. Adhere to the property’s auditing standards and cash management procedures. Securely handle assigned cash funds, ensuring accuracy in monetary transactions and maintaining the integrity of the cash drawer at all times. At the conclusion of each shift, perform cash counts, complete required financial reports, address any discrepancies, and ensure the safe deposit of cash.

Maintain an organized and clean cashier workstation, equipped with necessary supplies and documentation. Execute opening responsibilities by preparing the workstation and ensuring all equipment is operational.

Safety and Security

Promptly report any work-related incidents or injuries to the supervisor. Comply with safety and security protocols to maintain a secure and clean environment.

Policies and Procedures

Adhere to company policies and departmental procedures. Safeguard the privacy and security of guests and colleagues. Ensure that personal appearance and uniforms meet professional standards. Protect company assets and equipment in accordance with established policies. Carry out additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

Guest Relations

Express genuine gratitude to guests and provide a warm farewell. Address guest inquiries and service needs in a courteous and timely manner. Welcome each guest with a friendly demeanor, using their name when possible. Actively listen to guest feedback and respond appropriately to their needs. Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service delivery. Anticipate guest requirements by engaging in conversation about their preferences.

Communication

Utilize clear and professional language when interacting with guests and colleagues. Manage phone communications with proper etiquette, ensuring timely responses.

Team Collaboration

Foster a respectful and supportive work environment. Build and maintain positive relationships with team members across departments. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared objectives.

Quality Assurance

Meet quality assurance standards and expectations consistently.

Physical Requirements

Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods as required. Use computer systems and point of sale technology effectively. Lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.

General Food and Beverage Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness in work areas throughout the shift. Assist other departments as necessary to enhance guest service.

Management Support

Communicate effectively with guests and team members to meet service expectations.

Opening Duties

Complete necessary preparations for the shift, ensuring all tools and supplies are ready.

Cash Handling

Process payments in accordance with financial policies. Follow cash handling protocols to ensure accuracy and security. Conduct end-of-shift cash counts and resolve any discrepancies. Securely transport cash to and from the workstation as per security guidelines. Organize the cashier workstation with required materials and maintain cleanliness.

Skills and Attributes

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.
